Africa. What we have to put up with

For all our foreign friends who wonder what Africa is like, really like? Is it still a vast untamed continent full of wild animals waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims? Looking at the pictures below you might be forgiven for thinking so!

 

This is a hippo, who has taken the couch for a convenient sleeping place. This photo comes from a private game lodge where the animals are allowed to roam free. Hippos are amongst the most dangerous animals in Africa and they kill more people than crocodiles do.

The cat looks decidedly curious doesn't it?

 

 

 

 

Contrary to popular belief, hippos and other wild animals do NOT roam the streets in South Africa...
